What an absolutely wonderful place that Nyvera had turned out to be so far. Of course Ter'rian had only arrived here a few days ago, but he had made it a point to experience absolutely everything that he could as quick as he could. He came from a rather straight forward, almost militaristic society where most things in life were done on the basis of efficiency, and nothing else. There were no sports or games, no music, no television shows or movies of any type. If it didn't contribute directly to the growth and bettering of the Decatrian society, they simply just did not do it.
You can imagine the amazement that Ter'rian had experienced over the last few days. Not only the differences in lifestyle and culture, but the amazing amount of variety that could be seen in such a small sampling. On Decatria, 12am in the eastern quadrant and 12pm in the western quadrand functioned exactly the same. You could fall into place literally anywhere, and know exactly how things were going to pan out. Here, there were two totally different forms of people, some that came out during the day, others that came out during the night. If you didn't like the situation here at place A, just walk down the red corridor a few minutes and you were in a completely different setting. It was such an amazing experience.
He had experienced a great many things thus far, but none that he had found more appealing than gambling. He had been standing at the craps tables for 12 hours now, watching the patrons come and go, the joy of winning, and the dismay of losing it all when the dice fell the wrong way. He had been studying the game, almost counting cards like if you wanted a reference, in an attempt to ascertain the perfect way to defeat the game. So far, he had come up with very little, it was just too random.
